Default Trail Boss Fan operation

How often does your fan run? I purchased a 2003 Trail Boss 330 the other day. I have rode it about three times for over 30 minutes each. I haven't heard the fan come on. My 2006 Eiger comes on after about 20 minutes of riding.
I'm thinking of jumping it to make sure it works.
Opinions please

I've had my 00 for over 6 years and I can count the times I heard it come on with one hand.

First time I was in a field of wild sunflowers at a friends house. They were about 5 feet hight and even I was getting hot. Fan kicked on and I didn't know what that sound was.

There are cobwebs in my fan unit. The Atv has been sitting around for the last two years. I'm going to jump it just to be safe.

Thanks for the reply

If it's been sitting for that long than that's a good idea.

My fan hardly ever comes on unless I'm working the quad really hard. Snow plowing is when it comes on the most. My fan doesn't run as much when it's 90 degrees outside and I'm just cruising the trails, as it does when it's only 20 degrees and I'm plowing.

The fan on my 2002 Trailboss has never come on. All I do is trailride with it at moderate speeds. I was concerned that is did not work at first but some reading on this site showed me that many people rarely see their fans run. I stopped worrying.

oil cooler thermister takes quite a while to heat enough to complete connection to fan, normal on all Polaris 325 and 330 machines!

I jumped my 2002 trailboss fan with one wire so it comes on when I turn on my ignition. All it takes is a wire about 8 inches long and unplug the fan, put the wire in the plug slot and push it together and then the same on the other end. Better to run cool than hot!!

I have a 2004 Eiger and mine comes on pretty regularly. I live i Alabama and it gets pretty hot here. My brothers Bruin 350 hardly ever comes on while we are rding. I am installing a switch to be able to cut it on when I want it to and still have the thermostat operational. When it does come on finally the hot air blast my legs and my daughters feet if she is riding and let me tell you it is like a heat gun on you.
