Kfx400 wont run
#1
I recently bought a barely used 2006 kfx400 with only around 50 hours on it. I rode it for the first couple of weeks with no issues but now ive been having problems. The first thing i noticed was that when cold the engine had a noticeable tick in the top end. It would go away when warmed up so i contined to ride. Then one day it died and wouldent start back up. It turned out to be bad gas and ran better once i put fresh gas in it and ran some carb cleaner through it. In the past couple of days it didnt want to idle and if left idling for 10 seconds it would die. Yesterday i was out for a spin and it backfired and died on me and now wont start at all. Its been said to me that the valves are most likely the problem and are most likely out of adjustemnt or are cupped. Should i take this down to a kawasaki dealer and let them look at it or should i try to fix it myself. How hard is it do adjust the valved and to replace them. Thanks
