arctic cat 400 overheat??

i have an arctic cat 400 that runs very hot. the over heat light only comes on when the key is on the "on" position before you hit the ignition. I was also wondering if you can manualy start the fan.

i had a problem with my 500 getting hot.found out it was the bearing inside the clutch cover.it was dry.it was putting stress on everything else id check there.as far as a fan reset,i really dont know.does the fan even kick on?what all is getting hot engine, clutch box cover?

i would be surprised if it was the clutch because it only has 190 mile of use on my yard. the fan comes on while your driving and somtimes when it is switched to the on position but not started. by clutch box cover do you mean the belt cover because that gets hot and so does the engine. When your 500 got hot did the light stay on while you were driving or did it go off after you started the engine like mine?

yeah temp light stayed on once it did get hot.felt like the engine was dragging.i would look under that cover.yeah theres a bearing just inside the cover.i lubed it up cleaned the clutch and put it back together.everything seems to be fine.no drag no over heat.
