Thank you for your help, and after much thought I have decided to go with the Raptor 700R. I was partial to the 700XX but it didn't gain hardly any aftermarket support. Now I have a few questions about the 700R i'd like to be answered...
1) How good is it on gas? I know it has a 2.9 Gal tank but I'd still like to know how long I can go before its needs a fill up.
2) How well equipped is it? I have never usually bought any other parts and just kept the stock ones. Will they last long, or should I get higher grade parts?
3) Does this get stuck easy? I have deep mud pits around my house, and Id like to know whether to avoid them, or have the pleasure of going through them.
Please help me on this one last thing.

I have never went on an all day as in 8 hour ride with one but, I have gone for 4 or 5 hours at a time with out problems. It is fuel injected so that helps fuel efficiency. I don't think you should worry.

Totally up to you man. Stock parts will be fine. No real flaws. If you get to wanting more power throw on a PCIII and exhaust. That and a set of ITP or MAXXIS tires when the stock wear out would be all I'd do.
O, and I'm not a fan of the stock filter setup. I'd get a kit to change that out.

It's far from a mudder. My 450 does not handle it too well so I doubt the 700 would either. Now, if it's not deep it is fun to slide around in and throw rooster tails on you buddies!

1) Excellent on Gas!
2) Excellent quality on parts!
3)Go really Fast! Also get at least 22" tires on rear and 23" on front. This will help you get through that deep stuff.
Congrats on the new machine. I'm very jealous!

Thanks you've really helped me lock in my decision, all of you. And normally I wouldn't buy such an expenisve machine, or a new one for that matter, but we just sold our second home and it seemed like the right time for a nice new quad. After the August closing I'll be sure to post pics.

I have done many 8hr rides and the gas situation all depends on the speed you will be riding at if I plan on a long day of riding I will go a little slower as to conserve on gas (stay in 2-3 gears) if you ride mainly 4-5 gear your gas comsumption goes way down as in 4-5 hr trip!
The only thing you will probobly need right off the showroom floor is skid plates at least get for the swingarm as the plastic stock one sucks!

I am not sure about the 09 but it seems like its pretty hard on gas compared to my kfx 440.
and 2. it doesnt come with good tires or rims in my opinion, but the shocks are quite nice for trails and it comes with a speedometer and all that,
3) Does this get stuck easy? I have deep mud pits around my house, and Id like to know whether to avoid them, or have the pleasure of going through them.
