Default kazuma 50 starting problems HELP!!!

My sons meerkat has 2 problems. First the starter spins but will not engage to start the engine. from reading posts I believe that it is the stater clutch. 2nd problem is that the starter will not stop spinning unless I disconnect from the battery, even though I have disconnected the electric ignition switch.Does anyone know if this would be the starter solenoid? I have replaced the starter and battery.Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

The second problem sounds like a solenoid or the ignition wire is shorted to power. If you have a test light, test for power on the small wire at the solenoid, if the switch is still discounted there should be no power. If there is no power on the small wire most likely you have a solenoid problem. If you do have power then that wire is shorted to another power supply.

Yes, definitely sounds like your starter solenoid has welded it's contacts. You can also test this by removing it and checking for continuity between the 2 large lugs
