1989 moto4 250cc

Ran fine until today, I ran through the creek (for about 10 feet...5 inches of water) drove a few more feet and died. It starts normally, runs normally but dies after 1 or 2 seconds. Just shuts off.

It's got plenty of gas.

Any ideas?

 

i had mine up to the seat in water (100 ft long) and it runs fine

it could be your coil or something electrical it should dry out

 

i took the carb apart, sprayed, and blew it out....started right up. i think i'm going to put an inline fuel filter after the petcock...and clean the tank out.
