Default 08 outy 800 overheating

Hello I went riding and went through some mud 50 miles into the ride my atv was overheating and went into limp mode. I looked at the radiator and it didnt look that dirty. has anyone else had this problem. I would rather not mount my radiator externally. Does anyone ever try different antifreeze. Oh Yeah by the way it was the first trip for my new 800

Make sure your rad fan is running. I have a stick that got rammed into the back of my fan stopping it.

I also had to pull my rad since if you look through the fins closely you can see mud inbetween the fins. But since this is your 1st trip, i wouldnt think that would be the problem yer

No The fan was running constantly. I Will Probably take it back to the dealership. The belt would also slip when i went though 2' of water.

If you were overheating, it would probably kill your throttle power to like 25%. The computer shuts your power down when you run it hot. My limp home mode came on during my maiden voyage as well. I was told it was probably from shifting on the fly from 2 to 4 wheel drive.

Thats odd I Probably only had to shift like twice into 4 wheel drive. To busy to call or take it to the dealer. i just wondered if coolant would make any diff.

There's a way to tap into the Can-am codes. Maybe something is falty? Its something involving turning the key on to the lights, holding down the bottom on the display guage and then flickering the lights between hi/low 3x very faster. Then a code should come up. It mite tell you something
