Blaster won't be much for him. FAR from a 250R. The Banshee on the other hand will be different, power wise, depending on the mods. What I guess i'm saying is that the banshee and the blaster are the top and bottom of the power spectrum. Banshee's are real fun as long as your going in a straight line. They suck for trails and the suspension is also pretty lousy.
Good middle man would be like the 350 raptor or 400cc class.

Another issue is the size of your 15 year old. If your 15 year old is that experienced they will become bored with the blaster real quickly. the banshee is certainly more for the experienced rider in this class of quad. upgrades can be made as the riders experience level improves and requires more power.
one quick note; Yamaha does not promote the use of these quads for anyone under 16 years of age.

Thats not too big for the blaster but, as chickenchops said, he will become board with it. They don't have much power at all and at 15 he will out grow it quickly. I really wouldn't recommend it.

Just my opinion......maybe he would like a 450. They are just a better more rounded machine. Unless it will be a full time dune machine the 450's offer the best handling availible and light enough for a 150lb rider to manage.

Look at a 400 class bikes like the Suzuki Z400 now with EFI or the tried and true Honda 400ex Both are bulletproof bikes that will run forever and don't take a overabundance of skill to ride they are also both great allaround (trail to track) bikes!

sounds like a raptor 350 or a yfz 450 may be your best choice however the yfz is a very powerful machine so i would lean more toward the raptor 350

I agree depending upon experience level. Sounds like he may be able to handle a 450. Being that he is 15 yr if he sticks with riding I'm betting he'll want a yfz within a year.
