You can use Mobil 1. This is an API energy saving oil and has friction modifiers, good for cars,BUT bad for any motorcycle that has a wet clutch! SINCE polaris doesnt have a wet clutch system, safe to use. Its the only oil I can recommend other than ps4 2-50 Polaris oil. Hope this clears the oil questions on Mobil 1.

0-40 ONLY, unless Mobil 1 comes out with their own 2-50?which i doubt. ANY oil at higher viscosity can cause upper engine wear. Not worth saving a couple bucks vs cam replacements. Oil questions often trigger heated discussions, and some people can SWEAR by a certain oil and viscosity, but from my view point, I'm tired of replacing parts because of neglect and WRONG oil and filters! This is NOT just my opinion, I see proof day in day out! Good luck

Napa gold is a by WIX,IMO the best filter available. Check all sites on filter construction, filter media on the web and you may be surprised in the diffence in quality between brands! WIX and Purolator about the best you can get.

Very heated discussions indeed, OPT. As long as it's the right weight AND SERVICE RATING there shouldn't be any problems. I can't remember if the rating is SG or SH or what, but it matters. And like most of the owners manuals for anything with an engine say, you may have to change it more often if you don't use their brand. Probably not, as long as you stay with a good brand of full synthetic, but different additives in different oils may make some difference. And nothing will take out your camshaft before the next oil change. That's just the dealer showing his stupidity.

Mobil 1 surpasses SG/SH rating, API SL/CF,SM rating. I've been converted for about 3 years now,USED to use Castrol Syntec in my autos, plus have had no engine problems with customers using Mobil 1 0-40 in Polaris atvs. JUST dont use in Predators, motorcycles,or any thing that has a wet clutch, can and usually will cause clutch slipping. They do have Mobil 1 FOR cycles at our local Auto Zone, but at close to 10 bucks a quart, just a little pricey!
