Default How do I get my clutch basket un-bolted

I just bought this 2002 Yamaha warrior and decided to take this project of changing my clutch on myself. So far I have done nothing but break rusty bolts and my clutch basket. I have the springs off, but I can't get my clutch basket grabbed firmly enough to get the center bolt out to get to the discs. I am working with some basic tools, but they have always worked in the past. I am sure it is something basic that I am just not seeing or doing, all I know is that I have some work and $ ahead of me. Any suggestions?

If it is what I think you are talking about we use a rubber oil filter wrench to hold it in place. We also use this to hold the mini quad clutch to get it loose to at the track.

no he is talkin about somethin differant for the warrior, if he has a manual it will tell him how to make this tool, its not that hard, jus time consuming. allu need is a straight piece of steal and drill 2 holes to lighn up w/ the bolts on the front

They make a tool that clamps on to the clutch between the basket flanges. You local bike shop has them and would probably break it loose for you for free. Another idea someone already mentioned I think is to use a car oil filter platic belt tool to hold on.
