Default scrambler front struts

Hey yall

I have the 96 400 4x4 with original front shocks,
my rear is off a 97 500, and is in pretty good shape

but the fronts are stiff and bouncy

What Can I do?

I will replace just the struts, struts and springs, or whole
damn assembly off a newer scrammy

I know about works, and will go with them if need be,

What i want to know is, what year scrammy had
the best front struts/ springs? and will they bolt up!

thanks

Strut cartridges should supercede to Updated version, much better! Springs should be ok, I have just replaced cartridges and used original springs IF not sagging. Also can raise cartridge up a little in strut instead of bottoming out when replacing, will give slightly stiffer ride without having to go the HILIFTER route which I personally dont like because of stress on suspension! READ back of HILIFTER kit and their DISCLAIMER about suspension wear! I just installed a kit on a new Ranger Crew and I know it will be back soon! The extreme angle of rear driveshafts is ridiculous! Just to look sharp. I know ,I know many will disagree,But I am the one that has to repair these things on a daily basis. I JUST LIKE STOCK for dependability reasons.

I think the new springs and struts have 1.5" more travel on them.

I like almost everything stock because it works and I don't want to screw it up.

if your wanting to replace the shocks with the newer style, youll need to replace the whole strut housing too. the newer shocks are a larger diameter and will not fit in the older housings. the older diameter is 1.5 inches, newer is 1 5/8

Will everything else I have bolt up?
