Yahama Big Bear 250 Backfires thru Carb
#1
Hi all - new rider and owner here. Just bought a 2007 Big Bear 250 from my daughter. Never realized just how much fun ATV's are. The only 'glitch' I've experienced is that every once in awhile (maybe once in 20 starts), the engine will backfire thru the carb and physically blow it out of the retaining collar that attaches it to the engine. I can loosen the clamp screw, reseat the carb, tighten it back up and it will start and run like a champ. I haven't seen any trend about when it would happen. One time was after a fairly hard workout, another was after riding my grandson around the yard slowly (he's only 11 months old) but loves it. Any ideas folks?

wow im clueless on this one. id check the obvious things though. your carb could be seeping gas into the combustion chamber and it is igniting at the wrong time. that is about all i can think of right now. hope you get it fixed.
