05 Grizzly Fuel Gauge Blinking
#1
So, my 05 Grizzly 660's digital fuel gauge started blinking even when the tank is full. Any idea what would cause this? Is there a sensor in the tank or does it have a float? Bad gas? I'd admit I had some super unleaded that was sitting for a little over a year that was the last fuel into the ATV. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

I have an the same quad. My gas gauge is never right either. It doesnt blink on empty, but it never shows full when it really is. I have heard there are problems with the gauge, but not sure what to do about it. If you hear anything, let me know!

Where is the sending unit located roughly?
Also, I let it idle for like 20 min and the gauge stopped blinking, and I had one bar at E.. was putting it back in the garage and the guage started blinking again, and the last bar is gone.

The sending unit is in the gas tank. Based on your last post I'd say it was warning you that you were low on fuel. Its bad to let any fuel injected vehicle run completely out of fuel.
1 Some fuel pumps use the fuel as a coolant for the pump, causing the pump to burn up when it runs dry.
2. You may not be able to reprime the pump and restart the machine without a trip to the dealer because the pump won't run without fuel in the pump. It will stay off unless manually primed. This is done to keep the pump from burning up.
Learn to use the trip meter as a backup to the fuel gage, if you are concerned about gage accuracy.
Yamaha fuel gages are known to be flaky.

My grizzly isn't fuel injected, and the tank was completely full. Anyway, I think I've made the Yamaha gods happy as I went and bought TWO new Raptor 250's and lo and behold, my fuel gauge on the Grizzly is working normally again.
Thanks for the help though!
