ide buy it if it seems to be solid, but be sure to check the bearrings and the tires, if their good then its a great deal. an 04 model is well worth 2k, but i wouldnt get it if its a teenager selling it to you. im a teenager myself and i baby my quad, but at one time i would dog the s**t out of my old quads. i only baby this one because im paying for it by myself.

Sounds good but things that are expensive besides tires are tires ! If it needs tires, talk him down. Also, like others have said, bearings. They aren't expensive but they take some time to put new ones in, especially the rear. Jack it up and see if you can wiggle the axle.
