Default Grizzly 660 stuck in park

Ok, we're stumped. 2002 660 Griz just won't come out of park. Worked fine after fresh rebuild, ran great, rode great. We put it in park to pull a Wolvy and it has been in park ever since. Any suggestions before we go tearing the case apart? Yes we've tried rocking it, and no it isn't the linkage. I hope someone here has more experience with one of these than me.

Well with my Kodiak you have to press the foot brake to allow the transmission to shift out of park. Is it possible that there is an adjustment for the foot brake that is the problem?

Nope, that just effects the linkage, but thanks for your response. I think the problem may have something to do with the shift cam or the stop cam, just wondered if anyone else knew anything about it. I'm gonna start tearing it apart right now.

Interesting, I thought pressing on the foot brake moved a "lock" out of the way that kept the shifter from moving. Are you saying that you disconnected the linkage and tried to shift at the transmission and it still wouldn't move? Well good luck.

Yup, it's not the linkage. Depressing the rear brake, either at the foot or the hand releases a stop on the shifter **** itself. It's almost apart, engine is on bench, I just need to split the case and see what happened and why. Thank you for the input, much appreciated.

Thanks for the reply, I took the side cover off, the linkage is still connected. Should I take the bolt out and then try to move the linkage or what is the next step?

if you take the bolt out and it should let it move out of part and once you get it out put the bolt back in and just snug it like you would a oil drain plug. If that does not work your trans is locked up.
