Trash the dynojet kit or atleast pull it out of the bike. Run the stock needles with 1 shim under each needle. Use #4 brass washers from Home Depot or Lowes to shim the needles. The washers fit perfect and are the perfect thickness. Use keinin - stock mains. Take the rear main and put in the front carb and go 1 size larger for the rear carb. Most people don't like to hear that the dynojet kit they just spent money on isn't the way to go but it's the truth. If you will go with the stock needles shimmed and 1 size larger main in both carbs I will just about guarentee you you'll be screaming down the road instead of popping and studdering.

If HMF recommends 165 then go ahead and go with what they recommend. I'm sure they've done the dyno testing and know the best combination for the majority of bikes out there. Not a problem I hope you get it all lined out.
