i got a 04 400ex that im fixin to build and ive heard alot of bad stuff bout blowin head gaskets alot and id like to hear from anybody good or bad , i dont want to invest that money if its going to cause more problem

 

Stay away from 440kit as they over heat because the engine is aircooled.

 

is all the smaller big bore kits as bad as the 440 , like the 416 & 424

 

nope 416 and 426 are great.

 

r they bad to blow head gaskets

 

I've heard nothing bad about 416,426 just the 440.idk about head gasket but bore kits on 400 ex's are relatively cheap.

 

thanks , im pullin jug tomorrow , got to get some more power before i trade it off

 

well im going with the 426 , just orderedmy piston and dropped my jug off to b bored , local honda shop said that the 426 was better all round than the 440 & it would eat the 440 , i hope to have it back together next weekend , we will c if they was feedin me a bunch of bs or not
