Default regret getting the sportsman 500efi

I traded a 2004 vforce 700 in on a 2008 sportsman 500 efi. Im not really happy with the sportsman, its not what I thought it would be. I miss the power of the 700, and the ability to throw it around when needed. I talked to dealer and he said he would give me 4500 for sportsman, and take 1000 off of the 2008 outlaw 525 irs. How does the 525 compare to the 700, I know it is faster already. But is it as reliable. Ive been reading on here about the bearings and bushings and fenders flopping in wide. Do you have to adjust the chain alot. What other maintenance is there. Dealer said every 10 hours for oil, or 20 hours if trail riding. Keeping up on oil changes is not what im worried about, Its the bearings and other things like that.

Any info would be greatly appreciated,

ROB

You are dealing with three totaly diff animals I guess what you are asking is what about a 525 vs the 700 v fore kida odd cosidering your topic headline but there wont be much comparison between the two the 525 is twice the machine that the V is it will do everthing the V will do just better in about ever catagory, its lighter, faster and it will way outhandle the V the only thing the V has over the 525 is the aftermarket support behind it! Personaly I would go for the 09's as they are pretty much all new and better looking.IMO

Did you test ride the 500 before you bought? What were looking to use it for? Great reliable machine for work and general trail riding but you can't throw it around.

If you didn't want to trade in the 500EFI I would give you 10% more than the dealer, $4950 if it's still like new. For me it's the most perfect ATV made. I just got a check in the mail today that would cover it too.

I test road the sportsman before I traded my 700 in. My buddy has a sportsman also, and was always pulling me out whenever I got stuck. I would like to be back on a sport quad then a utility.
