jetmoto 250 reviews

I just bought my son an 08 jetmoto 250 sport. My first impresstion was the quad looks pretty cool. My first test drive i noticed the steering was very difficult to turn. The quad ran good the first time i took it out. Since i got it home it starts up real quick but takes awhile to warm up. after about 5-10min i will take it out and it will run good for a few min then shut off. I will restart it and it does the same thing. After so long it won't even restart because the battery dies. This has been very frustrating!!!!! This is the first quad i have bought thats not a name brand and am second guessing my decision. I would like to know if anyone else has had any problems with this quad. there has to be something not put together right with the front end, it is why to hard to steer. I hop back on my Banshee after riding the 250 and it feels like my Banshee has power steering. I orderd the quad in black and i noticed that the back plastic underneath was blue!!!! the front was black on top and bottom but not the back. When i called jetmoto about all my problems the were pretty much blaming everything on the dealer i bought it from about how he put it together. When i brought up the fact i bought a black quad and the back plastic underneath was blue they wanted me to take a pic and send it to them. Of course i already took it apon myself to remove the back plastic and finished painting it myself. I guess you get what you pay for. It's going back to the dealer tomarrow so i will see what happens.

My 2008 Jetmoto 250 did the same thing. The first thing to do is raise the needle in the carb by lowering the e clip. Also bypass your fuel shutoff and see if you still have the same problem. If you take the shutoff out and look through it even when its on the hole does not line up. I drilled out one of mine the other one i just took it off. When you do that save yourself some problems and run new fuel line. The steering was tight on mine at first but after 5 hours of woods riding i can turn with one hand. They are a good bike overallthey just have a few problems. also before you ride too much junk the air filter and get a uni pod filter they are alot better than the factory ones.

Yes the steering will loosen up real quick, I have even had to tighten a couple of mine since new. My jet 250's were cold blooded until I re-jetted them. They are shipped lean and needs to be rejetted. I can see how Raceway blamed the dealer, Raceway is also a dealer and you didn't buy it from them. If you bought it already assembled your dealer should have rejetted it and anything else that needed to be done. Ask your dealer if he replaced the oil?
To learn more about the 250 see my site (link below) and read all you can find in the Raceway area about the 07 and 08 Jet 250. They are not a big 4 in quality and if you don't like wrenching it may not be the atv for you.
Others on the Raceway forum had bought the black one and perhaps they can add more light on the blue side. I have a Red Jet 250 and a Blue Jet 250!

You know i bought a 250 last Dec and i did have some minor problems as well. The on /off valve for gas is no good and removed that and put a new fuel filter as well. I had to play with the carb a bit and i had some other few problems but nothing was to hard to handle and actually has impressed me cause it runs pretty good but you do have to use a wrench a little more than the big name brands but if you don mind wrenching and just something to cruise on you should be fine. You must let it break in and change oil as well as spark plug and if possible replace air filter. i have the same black one check out my pics. if you have any other questions let me know

I still have it on but to tell you the truth i have only rode it once with it on and it seemed okay. I just rode it real quick but i still have to adjust the chain hopefully this weekend im going to fix the slack on chain and on Monday i receive clutch cable and lever so hope fully i can get out to ride next weekend. This summer ive been busy with work and stuff at home so i didnt ride it at all. But then again its really hot in the 100 so i like to wait till its cooler to go ride anyways.I also should be getting UNI filter next week finally.
Outofline did you have to play with mixture screw again when you put on the UNI filter.
