Default 660 raptor starting trouble

Aight... Ive got this 660 Raptor, edelbrock carb, Yoshimura full system, Big Gun rev box(CDI), L&A one way bearing, G-force axle, Elka shocks.... the thing is i cant get the damn thing to start with the starter. the motor turns over fine, I pulled the plug out and cranked it over and checked to see if it was firing and it is but it looked a little weak. If i pull start it it start fine and runs fine. I called the dealership and they told me the CDI box was probably goin bad so i bought the big gun one and still the same thing, I dont want to keep throwing parts at, so does anyone have a clue where to start. I was thinkin trying the stator or something next. Somebody please help, im about to pull my hair out... thanks in advance.

did you say you can PULL start it?

have you hooked it up to a car battery yet to try and start it?

Yea I can pull it with another quad or roll it off a hill or something and it will fire right up. And yea Ive hooked jumper cables to it from my truck and it just cranks over, no start, so that pretty much rules out a voltage problem unless the ignition system isnt getting enough for some reason. Could the coil be breaking down or weak or something? I've even tried using ether while cranking it over and it still wont fire. I dont really know alot about these newer 4 strokes, ive always had 2 stroke dirt bikes and a banshee, so i dont really know where to start to look.

Have you checked your solenoid where the fuses are?

Hey wicked, how do you like that CDI box? Does it really help anything out? I am trying to find a dynatek for my 01 Raptor but cant seem to find one so I was going to go with a procom one from what I understand big gun, procom and the other ones are the same thing with different stickers on them and I need one soon.. you are the first one that I seen with one so I thought I would ask..

by the way did you check the solenoid yet? try putting a screwdriver on the 2 screws on it with the key on and see what happens if it turns over that could well be your problem thats what I found with mine at one point.

I figured it out, the intake valves were way tight and not closing all the way... yea the big gun cdi seems like a pretty sweet unit, can't really tell if it helped or not cause I put it, the exhaust, and the carb on all at once.
