Default 09 850XP vs. 09 800R Outlander

Found this on another site, hope it isn't already posted here. I didn't see it. I know the mud bogs isn't really the thing here, not my thing either really. But this is the first non-commercial video of the XP I have seen and thought others might be interested. In fairness I must say that the consensus on the other site was it wasn't a very fair comparo due the the track conditions. Anywho, even if you forget the outty is in the video the XP looks pretty impressive. Apparently it is stock albeit some 28" Zillas.

Thats pretty impressive. I have 2 friends with outty's and they go good. The Sporty rider really knew how to work that machine. It also sounded good when the outty wasn't reving it.

Looked like the guy on the Outlander was a rookie, I could of went farther than that on a bike.

One comment was, "the outlander got a shitty lane race'm in a good bog pit", but when he got over to the middle where the other guy went he was still stuck.

Thanks. I had heard he had another vid, but it wasn't up when I looked. Both are impressive for mostly stock machines IMO. I think that outty was stock as well. I guess both outty and popo fans could disect those videos and say one machine did better than the other due to track conditions, but as I said I didn't post the link as an Outty bash. Just a look at the XP. The XP did finish first though lol. I agree the rider can make a huge difference especially in those conditions.

Edit-the vid I posted in this post upon closer inspection wasn't of an XP, it was a reg Sportsman.

wow. That was a cool vid, but that wasn't a good comparison. The outty guy let the power go to his head. In that kind of muck if 65% throttle isn't getting traction, then 75, the 85, why would 100% throttle do better? I think he was a rookie and was riding against a guy that could RIDE. I would like to see a more fair comparison.(as long as the popo wins) Maybe the same guy riding different bikes. Both bikes are impressive.

When your in muck like that you cant go straight. You have to search for the best line like the popo did.

i guess i look at that as not a real world test. but the lighter bike usually would do better imo as we all know the sportsmans are tasnks and go right to the bottom.

Sometimes the traction is on the bottom and if you float you don't get it, but every situation is different. I'd like to see what they do in real mud without all that water.
