Polaris Trailblazer...Too Big?
#1
My son has outgrown his Honda TRX125.
We only ride in the sand and the 125cc doesn't have enough power to climb the dunes.
Is the trailblazer too big or too powerful for a 10 year old?
I've also been considering the following quads:
Honda TRX250EX
Honda Recon 250
Suzuki QuadSport Z250
Suzuki Ozark 250
Kawasaki Bayou 250
Polaris Phoenix 200
Polaris Sawtooth 200
Thanks,
Mark

Trailblazers aren't real powerful IMO but they're full size machines. A Phoenix is a mid-size that should fit him better. The Phoenix is the new Sawtooth. I think all the others on your list are adult sized ATVs.

Wouldn't worry so much about the power, it can be modded pretty easily.
Like the others have said, it's not light. And I'd worry about him being able to properly reach the controls.
I see you don't have the CanAm DS250 on your list. Leave it off. Size wise, it would be perfect. But the one I bought is **** poor on power.

Consider a bayou 220.. they actually have more ***** than the 250, and they last forever!
the rest of your list is good for a 10 year old...
I started at age 14 on a suzuki quadsport 230

I am going though the same thing with my nine year old. He is to big for most 90cc quads and it seems like he is getting bigger everyday, but the thought of him having a 250 scares the crap out of me. Size wise the Yamaha Raptor 250 is perfect and would be for a couple of years, but it is a 250 and has a clutch. I have narrowed it down to an APEX 90, DRR 90, or the Raptor. I know he can handle the Raptor 90% of the time but if something happened, I would feel it was my fault getting such a powerful machine.

My daughter was 11 when she had the 250 TB. Very stable but heavy. We're both glad with the choice and she soon outgrew it to a 400. I don't know how big the dunes are that you ride but the TB will struggle on some larger dunes or not make it at all. Clutch kit and pipe help quite a bit.

My son went from a 125 Breeze to a higfhly modded 250 Trailblazer at 11 so a stock one shouldnt be any trouble.
