I'm going to Glamis in two weeks and was wondering what you guys have found for climbing Olds hill? Should i stick with the stock 13 tooth or go down to a 12 tooth? My Raptor mods are as follows: stock spark arrestor removed, no airbox lid, 160/165 mains, PRM Desert bumper, Lonestar +4 Excalibar axle, TimmyBoy steering stem, peg extenders, and Renthal Banshee bars. Thank's.

 

I have been running with the 12T since I got my Raptor and can do 3rd gear on Olds hill. Even with the Big Gun complete system, pro-flow, and 180/185 main jets, it still will only pull 3rd. I'm going out this weekend and am going to try 170/175 mains and the 13T. The thought is if I can still pull 3rd with the 13T at least it will be faster do to the gearing change. I'll let you know how it does.

I went down to Glamis on the 11th and 12th and wished I had put on my 12 tooth the whole time. I would strongly recommend it. I also was curious how you run such big mains. I have a bigger piston, relatively free flowing exhaust(getting rid of FMF headpipe for Yosh titnium when I can get it individually), and have modified my air box to what people at Alba say works best on the dyno and I run 155/150. Any more than that and my plug reads way rich(even in Glamis/sealevel).

and what did you do to your airbox/lid? I plan to cut out the deviders, add 1" uni vents, and a larger filter.

 

Stock pilots. I turned the mixture screws 1/2 turn out each from stock.

 

The airbox lid is gone. I tried all the usual airbox mod tricks first and found it liked no airbox lid at all. I screwed the filter to the airbox to keep it sealed. Seems to work perfect. Tighter than the factory seal. I don't encounter much mud or water in the desert so I wasn't concerned about water in the airbox. The bike run's perfect at all R.P.M. ranges.

 

Just curious, how does your bike do against piped Banshee's on Olds hill? Also what paddles are you running?

 

where do i get a 12t sprocket?..no one around here has them!...and if do put the sprocket on do i have to change anything else on thebike?...going to glamis in 14 days if its alot of tinkering around im jus gonna leave it the way she is now..get back to me!!..jus email me!..
