Default No Sleeve 720??

I'm plannin on goin big bore this winter and i have been researching all of the kits. and i am curious why you can't bore and replate to a 105mm without a sleeve. i think i read in a post that ERBE has done this. i am assuming the sleeve makes it stronger, wether made from steel or aluminum. So what i would really like to know is what are the limits to that setup? Should i try it?

no one could ever get a head gasket to seal. CT racing did that mod for a short while.

i dont understand why tho. it is the same thickness head sealing surface as the steel sleeve 720.

maybe you can get it to work, lots couldn't. seems the sleeve took some of the water jacket space if I recall right, not much but some
