Default Is a Lectron 48 to big for a stock motor?

I bought a used Lectron off of ebay It was also for sale by a member here. Thanks by the way. I have a 02 with a trinity stage 4 pipe and do plan on some motor mods.
Piston, cams, Mild port/polish in the future.
Is this carb with ported intake and k&n to much for the stock set up?

it will be a good carb for you. I had one on my stock bore and it ran hard, it just runs harder with compresion and cams and porting and CC's

Did you buy it with an aftermarket twist or thumb throttle? THe stock thumb does not have enough throw to fully open the Lectron's. Throttle cable routing is also critical in getting these things to operate well.

I would also recommend contacting Eric a.k.a. Mr Horsepower (OMW Racing) to make sure you are running the correct metering rod and power jet for your application. IF you bought it off someone with similar mods you may be OK but if they are running an entiresly different setup chances are it will not run well on your DS

Great call DSengineer, I called Eric today and explained where I got the carb from and what I am running. I did ordered a new cable with the 90degree bend to fit my IMS tank and a new metering rod for my set up. I also talked with him about some head upgrades. And as soon as I decide on what bank to hit I will get it done. Eric was very helpful in talking me though this carb and upgrades. Nice guy.

Suppose to be a 6HP gain with the carb and ported manifold.

Does the lectron have a dual cable set up or can it be modded for one?
