Check page 73 in the service manuals for a grease nipple at "Transmission Upper Pivot Point". Its a real pain to access. A mechanic advised me that a lot of dealers don't grease this when they service the atv. My dealer said they didn't even know one was there.

Anyone have a service manual for either machine?

On my Hawkeye, all the greaseable areas didnt ever need greasin, I could put in maybe a 1/4 squirt and grease was going everywhere, that transmission pivot joint isnt really serving a purpose other than being a flexing area for the whole quad under extreme bending as to not break the trans in half, Blow it off dont worry about, Keep ridin till something breaks and then worry about it. Thanks RP.

I'm past worrying about it being greased as I'm really easy on equipment. I just want to know where this F'in thing is located.

Can you explain a little more in detail about the trans pivt point?

Every thing flexes and moves, Polaris probally saw that the frame on that machine flexed to much and I bet they broke a few transmissions in testing from Frame flex in rough service conditions, Really its like a torque strut on a vehicle.

Makes sense, thaks.

Polaris needs a ph. # to call and answer questions that the dealer cant. Or is guess thats the value of these forums.

check with your dealer, they have the service manuals for about $50...The nice thing for me and Mongrol is the manual covers both the 300 and 400HO models!

Mongrol, the pivot point is directly above the fill plug for the transmission lube on the left side of the trans...
