I have an 06 TRX450er, it starts perfectly when cold, but after it heats up, if I stall it or turn it off it will not restart. I can bump start it and it will start or if I wait about 20-30 minutes to let it cool down then it will start again but it will not start with the electric starter. It has been to my mechanic and he can't figure it out either. He is a former Honda factory mechanic who really knows his stuff and still can't figure out the problem. He has adjusted the valves and says that they are perfect; he has checked the automatic decompressor and says that it is fine. The problem started after he changed the top end (new piston/rings, valves...) but he has triple checked everything and now we don't know what direction to go. I know some of you have probably had the same problem, so help me out!

I don't think that is the stator, because it still starts when bumping it
I don't think it is my ignition, because it still starts when bumping it
I don't think it is my starter because its still turns over, it just won't fire
I have a brand new battery

What else can it be???????

 

If I touch the throtle at all on a hot start, it floods out and will be almost impossible to start. Might be your problem too???
