The new 650 obviously has some features that I would like to see on the 400 (maybe even the 300).Stuff like engine breaking, selectable 4 wheel drive, real 4 wheel drive not 3, wet packed rear brakes, etc. The Prairie has needed a change for a couple of years and I wonder if any of the above mentioned features will appear on the 2002 models? Anyone heard/read anything?

Might happen, Squire! I hope some of the new technology finds its way to other machines, too.

Some improvements might be easy; some, not so easy. For example, the Prairie 650 off-throttle braking is not engine compression braking; instead, an electrically-actuated brake, controlled by wheel speed and throttle position sensors, applies friction to the drive belt. Seems like it would be hard to "bolt-on" this complicated machinery to an existing Prairie 400 or 300, but a "2002 Model" version of the smaller displacement machines could have the feature. Guess we'll wait and see!
