Do they like to foul plugs after sitting? Its the only thing I can figure right now, since I had no problems before. I have gone through 2 plugs so far after letting it sit for a couple weeks, then firing. I dont get it, the plug is just black and wet.

No...mine can sit for weeks and nothing like this ever happens.
Are you consuming a lot of oil??? The valve guides are the first thing to go on a worn engine. They may be passing oil into the combustion chamber, and that is what is gumming up your plug.......

I checked the oil last night and haven't noticed it using a lot, but I will check it closer. It just dawned on me that maybe the float bowl is a little stuck from sitting at an angle with a flat? It just doesnt make any sense, I rode it a whole weekend with no problems even at a higher altitude like 2 months ago. Then took it out after that for a bit until I blew the tire, still with no issues.

I read that a lot of places. I did about 2 times because it wouldnt fire without. Maybe its just that temperamental and I need to find a good system to starting it. It has gotten "colder" here lately, which these seem to be very cold blooded. Ill experiment some tonight. Thanks guys.

The mixture should actually get leaner with cold weather, seeing that cold air is more dense.

You guys ready for a laugh? I dont know how, but the choke got moved up one tick. Was ready to kick myself in the a** when I saw that, or the person who touched it in the first place. Ready to take the darn thing off completely. But yeah, it runs fine.

One of my biddies has a vintage 250R (which I would buy from him in a minute!!!). On one ride, it was running bad and he ran out of gas surprisingly early. Discovered the choke had been left on........
