Alrite well in the spring i think i will be in the ATV market, and im looking for a yfz 450. I dont want a 2004, cuz i think they have electrical problems, so i think i want an 05, i cant afford an 06 i imagine. so im looking to spend 3000-3500, can i get one?
Plz tell me if im wrong about the 2004's, what kinda quad am i expecting to get, etc.

 

by the sounds of it, the raptor is a better choice if im not racing or riding dunes... does the 660 have efi? and what year did the switch to the 700's

 

The 450cc bikes are built to race and do good in wide open trails and also tight ones.As for the raptor 660 it does'nt have efi, the 700's do and they started out in 06'.You should be able to find a 660 any year for that price but don't get an 01' tranny will take a crap and they also have starter problems.

 

Depending on your local market, you should be able to get a YFZ450 for $3000-3500. Here in NC the prices for used 450's range from $2800-8000. The 660's are going for $1800-4500, and the 700's are going for $3500-6000, with clean '06-07 models going for an average of $4100. These are craigslist.com prices, cycle trader and ebay are usually more expensive.
