Default Yamaha Exhaust Silencers

I just bought a 2003 Yamaha Kodiak 400. It has the stock exhaust on it. I would like to really quiet it down. Are there after market silencers that will work on this, and if so, how effective are they? Do they hurt the motor at all to install them, or does it alter the engine performance? I just want a quiet steath mode ATV. Anybody have experience in this, and can offer advice or products that work?

All of the aftermarket exhaust I have seen are louder than factory. If you don't find what you're looking for you could repack the factory muffler and quieten it down some.

repacking the factory silencer is the best bet. aftermarket exhaust is for more power and torque and more fuel usage blah blah..........you dont want to go there. it will be twice as loud as it is now. not to mention you will have to rejet the carb with an aftermarket pipe.

Hi windymtnman
You could try this link http://www.kolpinpowersports.com/products_4.html or Benz silent rider to see if they have a model for your quad. You will just have to Google Benz silent rider
Take care,
Dave
