Default 2003 S.P. 500 H.O. Junk!

I Should of known better than to buy a polaris. I can't get the right front wheel to pull. I have removed the hub & checked the magnetic deal inside it is working, I replaced the 3-tab washer and reassembled hub. Still not pulling, I have tried just about everything. Anyone know the torque on the axle nut? I must not be doing something right. I am just about ready to sell the damn thing & go buy something else. Please Help!

Torque the axle nut to 12ft.lbs.Most other brands of quads are only 3-wheel drive anyways.

I've had a 500, a 500 H.O., and 2 500 H.O. EFIs. None of them were junk. If yours has been abused for 5 years that doesn't make it junk either. Go ahead. Sell it and break some other brand and b*tch about it in another forum where I won't see it. Or just check it again to be sure it's put together right and it energizes.

If the magnet is working correctly, you should have to try pretty hard to pull the armature plate away from it when its activated, if it is easy then you either need a new magnet or the clearance setting on the old one is wrong, or the voltage to the magnet is wrong.

How often did you change the hub fluid? I change them twice a year ,its a 5 min job tops. Our 97 Sportsman 500 has 7500 miles on it and never had that issue.

If you can't get it to work they have dealerships that can do it for you. Kinda like car dealerships for your car. Calling your ride junk will get you nowhere on this site. A 500 sportsman is one of the most dependable quads on the market now. If you don't have the experience or knowledge on the AWD system, as simple as they are then you will screw it up worse trying to make it work. 9 out of 10 breakdowns are caused by us anyway on nearly every brand. Lets see you tke your car or truck through what you take your quad through. Bet it won't last an hour. It wouldn't for me anyway.
