does anyone know of a part number for a 1996 sp500 oilfilter i hate 2 pay $15 a piece from the dealer..isnt there a aftermarket or something from the auto parts house???and does anyone know the part number??

 

I dont know the part number but i know that there is no aftermarket part so you will have to buy one from a dealer.

I think you got the same motor as me....Walmart supertech, St 6607 or St 7317 ( longer ) work just fine at 2,50$. I use the 6607 with just the same lengh of the stock one. Do some research on the net....you will see..[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-cool.gif[/img]

 

I use a Fram 6017 on our 02' 500s, same size as stock cost about $6. Then the Fram 7317 fits, same #, same size as Walmart's for about $3.50.

 

take your used oil filter with you to your local auto parts store and just match it up.......................................

 

There is also a Fram cph6607 and STP SMO17 and Napa Oil Filter #1358 and so on and so on.
