Default 1980 atc honda 110

hey all i just got a 1980 atc 110 for a steal price of 75$
it is all orginal even the tires,

it was not running for about 15 years.
after a oil change and new plug. and some fresh gas it fired up and idles pretty nice.

but when i open the choke it dies. and will not restart with the choke open i close it and it fires right up.i have the honda shop manual for it and it seams to me that the air to fuel mix is of.

the manual says to play with the poilet screw and when doing so the motor will miss when you go one way and have a high idle when you go the other and then to set it to the middle.

on my bike this does not happen the idle says the same .

like the atc drives fine with the choke closed but it just has no power but revs smooth

i am running the atc with out a air filter now i have ordered one but it will be a few weeks

what can i try????????????

also on the carb you have the petcock and with the fuel input and the res input. then up by the idle adj screw you have a nother male port and in all the pics that i can find the hose comes off it and wraps round the right side of the carb then i cant see where it goes what is this and where does it go my bike does not have the hose but it has the port

After sitting so long and what you are describing
Order a Carb rebuild kit
Get some carb parts dip
disassemble carb soak in dip overnight
clean out all of the passages
Reassemble with new kit
Good luck with new bowl gasket
(if old bowl gasket still good use) it much easier
Problem is your carb is all plugged
Good luck
Ray

i just went through this on a 185s i bought. carb dip works best if ya don't want to pony over the 25 bucks then just buy a couple cans of carb cleaner. remove all your jets and check them out. my main was solid plugged and had silt piled up in the bowl. the main jet had build up on the inner walls so i just replaced it. make sure the tank is not super rusty if it is at least put an inline filter.
