Default 1998 Sportsman front disc brake question

My daughter was ridding my 500 and after about 3-5 miles the right front brake locked up. THis caused the AWD left tire to kick in and start spinning even though it was not in AWD. My question is it the MC or the brake caliper. Initially, i thought it was a bearing out in front in but i took both off cleaned and re-greased and put back together. Any help would be appreciated....

REGREASED what bearing? If talking about in hub system, doesnt take grease, only hub fluid. If other wheel spins freely, then possibly caliper sticking?

That's what I thought but I wasn't sure so I kept my mouth shut. I'm still learning this stuff.

it might be the hilliard locking into da hub, when only one locks, pulls like hell, feels like a locking brake.

Thanks, I wasn't aware it took hub fluid. I applied hi-temp grease (just like you would in a 4wd truck) to bearings in front. Turned out it was brake caliper sticking. Got it broken down now and in process of cleaning it.

Since i have applied grease instead of hub fluid, do i need to take back apart and clean off grease or should i just go ahead and apply fluid inside of eac hub??

Clean off grease, fill with Polaris demand drive fluid(atf if in a pinch) through hole in hub at 12oclock position, about 2-3 ounces until full, let set so fluid can seep into bearings, hilliard, then turn to 4 or 8 oclock position, let drain until stops or just a trickle, then install 3/16 allen plug. ALSO hub nut in front of bearings torques to 12 foot pounds.

Got calipers back on ready to try out but brake system won't pump fluid to brakes. I have taken brake handle/pump apart cleaned and put back together. How do i get it to start pumping fluid to the brakes? Does it have to be primed?

leave the cap off and pump it, you will have to bleed all four calipers till you get the air out, just like a car.
