A while back someone spoke about the gas gauge sender fell into the tank. I too had this happen, I used some wire to 'fish it from the tank and saw the metal studs just slide into the gauge. Well, slipped out, once the gauge popped out of the tank(like a cork) I used a small screwdriver to stake the ends of the rods where they slip into the gauge and it holds great!
