2007 POLARIS RANGER 700 XP
#1
I posted this same message on the Ranger message board also ,but I always seem to get more help on this message board. I have a 2007 Polaris Ranger 700. It has a 6" Gorilla lift, Gorilla axles, and 30" Mudlite tires. I have recently replaced the stock drive belt with a EPI extreme duty belt. My question is this, the Ranger drives fine when the motor is cold, but once the motor gets up to operating temperature (about 2-5 minutes) it starts to hesitate and sputter like it wants to cut off but doesn't. The higher the RPM's the worst it is. I have flushed the gas tank so I dont think its bad gas. Could this be a worn out clutch? Any help would be much appreciated.

Does it do it in nuetral or just in gear under a load? Check fuel preasure. Could be bad pump. Before people get to guessing you are gonna need to get a little more specific and you'll get a better answer. Did it do it before the belt? Id the check engine light on? Is there any codes?

If I were to take off on it while the motor was cold It would run perfect at any RPM, but once the motor is at normal operating temperature it starts to sputter. It has never cut off though. The motor runs fine at idle hot or cold. There are no check engine lights or codes. It didn't do it before I replaced the belt, but I have put a new OEM belt on the machine to see if it could be the after market belt but it did the same thing also so I think I have ruled out the belt. The original belt was in really bad shape that might be why It didnt do it before I replaced it. Hope this helps

Liker ncriderforks said, sounds like the fuel pump IMO. Common for them to work fine when cool, then after running a bit the pump heats up and gets weak causing the fuel pressure to drop. Ignition system is another possibility but my first bet would be fuel pump.
