what is the difference between these 2 machines

All depends what brute force you are referring to.
Other than style, the BF650 & the 650KVF Prairie's are the same, as they are both SRA's(single rear axle).
Kawasaki dropped the Prairie name to the Brute Force name for marketing sales with the 650's.
The Brute Force 650i is the IRS Model, just like the BF750i.
