Default Which chinese quad is the best?

I am looking for a cheap quad for my 8 year old son. I realize the problems with most of the chinese quads, but in everyones opinion which is the best one? Not only the most reliable, but best to easily get parts? I've heard redcat from a friend so far.

What is your budget? What size ATV? That could make a big difference.
I am no expert but my son is about to turn 8.. we have changed 3 times in the 9 months hes been riding so I can offer my opinion.

well my budget is under 1,000. I kind of question the size. I am a first time rider my self and so will be my son. I am thinking 50cc - 110cc. What do you reccomend? I don't want too much power that he can't handle, but I also don't want him to out grow it anytime soon either.

how big is he , prob between 90 -125 ,but some 90 mayb to small for him , but the 90 that i got for my 8yr old girl will run close to 30mph with me on it (when it runs) and im bout 190lbs, so even the small ones can fly when they get wound out

My son is around 70 lbs.. closer to 80 with all of his gear.. For under a $1,000 a used Honda TRX 90 will be the most reliable.. Its larger then the chinese 90's. Its almost too big for my son. Its a 4 speed semi auto( no clutch) but my son usually starts in 3rd gear and rides that way with no shifting.. HE can start in first gear and then work his way up gears as he wants to go faster. The chinese 90 we had was very easy to flip, my son lost his conifdence pretty quickly. I got out 2003 HOnda TRX 90 and he has loved every minute of it. Over the summer he put over 20 hours a week on the bike. The only thing we have done thus far is change the oil. No issues at all.

I know you probably want something new which limits you to a chinese one.. but consider the TRX90 its bulletproof for everyday use. Even though its not new it will most likely outlast a chinese one. The earlier TRX90 is pull start like the 2003 we have.. I htink around 2006 they switched over to electric start.

I believe they are all the same with interchangeable parts so you can get parts on any of the several sites you find by doing a Google search for china quad parts. You need to tighten every bolt you can find before you use it no matter what name is on the quad.

Alot of the parts do interchange.. the problem being is that some bikes are totally inferior to other ones.. KNow to have tons of issues. I have heard some good things about Jetmoto. My Father has a Roketa 250 and there is some issues electrically but I fixed them. The ATV does run good and is reliable for the most part but not if you beat on it hard. Most of them require a good battery put in them right away to start with or else it will just plague you on a daily basis. Another issue some have is the chain popping off.

If you wind up getting a chinese ATV try and get as wide as possibly for stability for them. You don't want them tipping over and the ATV landing on them. Been there done that.. And if all are about the same width figure out some 2" wheel spacers.. This will give you a 4 wider stance and help a lot.

MOst of all go over the entire ATV top to bottom and tighten and put lock-tite on all of the important bolts. They all loosen and you don't want them wrecking because of it.

I almost forgot if anyone is local to Maryland I have an 2003 Eton 70 for sale. I got this for my youngest son for Christmas coming up but we are going to downsize 3 of our ATV's and get him a new like his brother. Overall the ATV is in great shape. I just put a new top end on it , piston, cylinder, rings and high compression head. 2 stroke Automatic. Upgraded clutch rollers . Selling it for $700 . I also have a KASEA 50 that needs some carb work for $300... Both of these are not cheap chinese atv's,, They are well built an parts are readily available.
