The new Jetmotos
#1
Well this last week we ended up out in the desert for the first time. Took the two new Jetmotos out and abused them a 150 and 200. I must say I'm pretty happy with them. I knew going in there would be some work but it wasn't to bad. The only major problem was my daughter blew out the rear shock on her 200 but we were lucky and we were able to get a new shock and in about 10 minutes she was back up and running. The 200 also seems to vapor lock after about 30 minutes of riding, think I know the problem need to re-route fuel line and get a vented gas cap should fix the problem. If anybody has any other ideas please let me know.
The 150 didn't have any major problems it just squeeks and rattles need to go through it and make sure everything is tight and lubed up. I must say I'm sorry didn't get them through raceway there was a local dealer in the town I live and pretty much talked the guy down to the same prices.

Check the gas cap rubber gasket, one of mine did not have a hole puched in it so there was no way that air could get in to keep it from vapor locking. A drill bit to the gasket and that solved my 150 carb problem! This is the first rear shock problem I have heard of, I have 4 07's and all the shocks after two years of hard running are still fine!

Thanks for the info about the gas cap will give it a try. As far as the rear shock the dealer were I bought the quad has never had one go out either. He was pretty cool no questions asked just gave me a new shock.

WELCOME aboard,
I forget to check in here now and then but glad to see you are having fun on the JMs. Funny, I got the same pair as you: a black 200 for myself and a 150 blue for my son.
The 200 has been very reliable and trouble free except for normal stuff like a dead battery and other self-inflicted injuries (i.e. crashing and rolling).
The 150 has had its share of problems but I attribute it to the rough riding given it by my son. As a matter of fact, I am heading out the door to get the engine bracket rewelded as it started cracking, not a good thing. Small fix to save a big problem later.
Engines have been great, just doing regular oil changes. No leaking or other odd problems. The 150 was running a bit rough, so I opened up the air cleaner and it was stuff with dust. After a quick cleaning all is well again.
Enjoy.

Thanks for the info I'll watch the moor mounts. Has you 200 vapor locked on you?</end quote></div>I think it may have once. The gas line was touching the head, so I thought the extra heat may have caused the gas to vaporize. After moving it out of the way, that problem never came back.
@jetmotoracer - did you replace the shock with the same pos? If you put a good unit in there, not sure how it would blow out. What is the status now?

Yep same pos, my daughter took it out on about a 2 hr ride and had no problems.
My next question is have or you anyone else tried to adjust the shift lever. We tried to move it up one notch and it was hitting the motor so we moved it back. Just trying to figure out a better postiton for the lever so you foot isnt pointing down to shift. Kinda tough with riding boots on.
