I asked Mary at FWP about the reliabilty of the late model Polaris quads and what they see towed out the most. Her reply surprised me. She says that the bikes get into a bind in mud, and refuse to down shift, resulting in a short tow to the truck... and then to the dealer. She has been told that it is a computer problem.

BTW, I started to post this in the Honda forum, but I thought it would be more enetertaing here.

And, just to be fair, I have never seen this problem with a Rubicon.

Greg, I think I remember a towing incident that involved both of us.........I dont recall me being the one that was towed across FWP.

As far as electrical problems. I dont doubt they happen. In general electronics and water dont mix.

I cant wait until the Prairie 650 comes out.....then you Polaris people will stop picking on the Rubicon.

BTW, is your quad up and running yet?

Lots of BS from my point of view. Of course, what can you expect from one with hondaitis. By the way, the 1Ghz computer in my Sp500 is giving me trouble also. The keyboard gets filled up with mud to quickly. What should I do????

Texmud,
If you recall, my problem was self inflicted. Why would you bring that up? I was surprised to hear that comment from Mary. She even mentioned one individual that owned 2 Rubicons, and both of these bikes had the same problem.

BTW, my bike should be fixed on Tuesday. Still not sure what the problem is. While we are on the subject of my bike, how are your sealed brake drums? LMAO

Cya,

Greg

I know two people with rubicons. One loves it & has had no trouble out of it. I dont know how many miles he has on it, but he rides alot. The other guy has had his for 5 months, it has spent 2 of them in the shop with "computer problems". The dealer says its fixed now. Well see
