Default 2006 Outlander XT800 Caught Fire

My son drove my '06 Outlander through a mud puddle and the wiring harness caught on fire near the battery. Anyone seen this on this particular model?

I just recently purchased a 07 leftover 650 outlander and it caught fire near rear brake caliber. There have been some other similar fire reports found on this site http://aurorawheelers.com/view...jump_to=165492#p165492

Don't you still have warranty on it?

I found the fire on my quad was due to this Canam recall. It appears on '06 Outlander 800 & 650 and some '07 650 there is an issue with the brake pedal easily allowing you to mistakenly ride the brake and causing a fire. That is exactly what happened to me because the rear brake cable and cylinder were charred.

I feel like a dumba$$ for riding the brake but I am not the only one this happened to and there is a recall to add some type of extension to the foot brake pedal. Here is the link to the fire hazard recal http://www.can-am.brp.com/en-U...mation/2006.07.03.htm

I called the dealer today to see if they will cover the damage under warranty
