I know there have been previous posts for requests like this,.. but now that I own a Raptor I need to buy a set of Sand tires with wheels. Please suggest which ones you like and what size you recommend, Front & Rears. I will be using them in Michigan @ Silver Lake Dunes. I plan to add a pipe, rejet, and modify the airbox, and I am running a 12 tooth front sprocket. I am thinking of going with smooth front tires since the sand is sometimes wet and harder.
Thanks for the advise

20x10x8 Haulers or 20x11x8 Sand Devils on at least .160 wheels or .190 depending on how agressive you ride. Sand Devils weigh three pounds each more then Haulers. Sand Devils paddles are molded as part of the tire and haulers are welded on and will not last as long and are about 40-50 more per set. V blade are better for turning, Edge paddles, they are more. Dune hoppers were to tall. Rocky Mountain ATV, nobody sells for less. There are other choices, this is what I have used in the past.

20-11-10 Sand Devils are the only way to go, the 10 inch wheel is a lot easier to swing than the 8 inch one with the added side wall of the 8 inch tire, besides, 10 inchers are gonna look way better than a smaller wheel, I would also go with a Douglas .190, you wont regret the added price for the piece of mind. And Sand Devils make that bad a** hum when you take off hard

Definately don't go with the Haulers. You can't whip the back end around at all. I bought them for my Raptor and wish I hadn't. They work great on my 330r, but not on the Raptor. Go with the Sand Skate II's or something similar. Something with a "v" paddle. And, don't bother buying the smooth fronts. I used my stock Dunlops and they worked fine. It will save you money. Just give it some gas and the front end won't even touch the sand. Serious.

Bartman is 100% on the money.... I put haulers on my stock raptor and wish I would have got 20x11x10 sharks (skate copys)the raptor won't break the haulers loose. Skip the fronts, stockers are fine.

i agree go with the sand skate IIs.(20x10x10+10 paddle)also you can get +1 backspaceing to widen your stance. due to the fact that the raptor narrow rear end you'll have more fun and better handling. the smoth fronts are nice but not needed. i plan on going to silver lake 4/14/01

Does the fact that the Sand Skates weigh more than the Hauler effect the climbing ability of the Raptor? I put Realtors on a 400EX and couldn't climb anything where I needed wheel speed like in the sand.

The rumor that Realters work in sand if you reverse them is just that, a rumor. Those tires are way to heavy and just dont have the right design for a true sand tire.

Hi - Sand Skate II are good but if you want the ultimate all around go with Sand Skate I and have them shaved to lighten about 3 pounds each and you have an awesome tire whose only disadvantage is hooking up in drag race starts. I run them on 10x10 wheels and I also run 20 paddle sand tire unlimited padla brats sometimes - they just dont slide as well.
Have fun!
