On our Alphasport 90...
If I spray gas/oil intot he carb, it starts right up, runs for a minute, then dies.


I had just cleanded the carb. and replaced the needle.

I bought it not running so I am not surte if anything else is wrong with it. I did just put in new rings.


The carb is a mikuni (t-26). I played withthe idle but have not touched the air screw or the one on the bottom.

 

All set.
Took the carb apart, played with the float and changed the gas.

 

I spoke too soon.

I tried it later on. It fires up but only runs for a few seconds. It bogs when I open the trottle. Any ideas?

 

What's your gas/oil mix? The mixture screw could need adjusted. Take your spark plug out to see what it looks like. Is the engine warmed up by the time you take the choke off and try to open the throttle?

 

I did play with the mixture screw a little didnt seem to change much.

Isn't the gas/oil preset?

I could not get it to run long enough to warm up.

It hass an electric choke. I am not sure how to open or close it manually.

 

Most people just do away with the oil injection and mix their own gas. I just assumed that's what had been done. If you could pull your spark plug out and tell me what it looks like or post a picture that would help a little.

 

plug look okay it igues it is brown.
