i have a 1986 honda 200sx fourtrax,i'm needing to know if it's possible to exchange the swingarm from a 1986 honda 250sx 3 wheeler?the reason for this is the motor needs the top end rebuilt,and can't afford it right now.but i have a running 250sx.i planned on switching motors until it donned on me that one is chain and other is shaft.DUH on my part.or would the trannies interchange?that's probly a dumb question though right?any input?i'm about ready to trade someone the 250sx for a running 200cc motor.any takers?

 

The angle drive is built on the countershaft , it will only fit the SX , BigRed and Fourtrax 250 engines , there is no way of putting a sprocket on it..

 

uummm,ok? no way of putting a spprocket on what?if i change it, i'm changing the whole thing.the whole rear end.i needed to know if where the swing arms connect to the frame,if they will fit together.i know how to ride them,maintain them and other little things.but i cant fix them.i dont have the tools to rebuild the engine.the 200sxfourtrax that is in need of repair,has a 200x motor,and swing arm,axle,sprocket,and spring/shock.all off the 200x.but i did not do all this work.it was like that when i got it.it has been beefed up for racing.i dont want to tear them both apart,and find out they wont fit together.

 

i serious doubt the swinger from the atc 250sx will bolt to the 200sx frame....your going to have to merge the frames to make this one work ..wich means cutting and welding the frames together ....and then the plastics may not fit correctly..but youd have a running fourwheeler...if you dont have the tools .....and dont want to spend to much money .....strip the four wheeler down to a rolling chassis (wheels frame handelbars shocks) no wires or plastics or engine..then strip the three wheeler the same but leave the engine in ....now take them to a welding or motorcycle fabracation shop, and have them weld the fourwheeler front to the threewheeler rear ......

 

thanks for the info,i'm glad i didnt tear them apart yet.unfortunatly,i am laid off right now and have NO money.i was just trying to come up with a way of making it work myself.i guess i'll just sell the 3 wheeler for enough to fix the other engine.the 3 wheeler is ugly,but dam does it run good.if you ever run into anyone that would be interested,i will trade both for something that runs."quad only".i live in N.E. OHIO.
