Default Help with 03 Wolverine 350

I have an 03 Wolverine that the front exhaust pipe gets hot when running. This atv spit and spudders and I have took the carb off and cleaned it, changed the oil, plug and almost anything else that I can think of. Does anyone know what could be causing this to run hot like this. Thought about changing the CDI but wanted to see if anyone else had this problem.

Default Help with 03 Wolverine 350

i doubt its your CDI.. your running too lean. dose the header get hot when you are at idol, when rideing, or both? either way you need to rejet.

if its getting hot at idol you need to richen your pilot jet, small brass skrew outside the bowl of the carb-located twords the engine. on the mikuni carbs you turn it IN about 1/4 turn at a time to richen.

if its getting hotter than normal while rideing, you should buy a jet kit and put in a larger sized main jet. you may possibly have to lower the clip on the needle to richen your mid-range as well. this is all kind of standear jetting stuff, so there are goo articles out there to help you with this.

good luck and welcome to the forum!
