does the 09 450R have reverse? or only the 400?

 

bikes in the 450 class have no reverse, the 400's do have a reverse. they cut reverse in the 450's to save weight when raceing. some companies even added a 6th gear on there 450 models instead of the usual 5. the honda 450R has 5gears though, says the spec sheet.

Well im more of a trail rider than a racer, so Im the type of guy that wants reverse, so I would need to go down to the 400. Is the 400ex still a good quad?

 

Yes the 400 is one of the best trail machines money can buy.The motor is a little old but produces good power and if taken care of will run forever.

 

Some of the 450s have reverse, not Honda though.

 

The kawasaki 450 has a reverse.

 

if you want a 400 mechine, get a 400ex, or a suzuki Z400-reveerse+fuel injection
