FMF 400cc Powervalve
#1
I was just checking out a new mag. and I see FMF has come out with this powervalved 400cc power up kit. Now my question is will this be worth the 2grand, or would someone be better off getting theres ported and polished with a small domed coolhead. I am going to tear down my bike this summer and would like to now what everyone thinks about this new kit or just getting porting and polishing done. thanx.

I'm having a really good rec. porting and polishing, Delta reeds, timing adv. and a few others things done to my bike now. The guy that is doing it had a few of those FMF powervalves laying around and said for the money I would be much happier with the port and polish. About 1000.00 compared to 1900.00
I'm trying to get ALOT of torque and a few more M.P.H. out of my bike
I saw one on ebay a few weeks back that went for about 1400.00 brand new.
I think he said the h.p. gain was about 18, but h.p. don't mean much if it don't hook-up.

exhaust valved 2-strokes are the way to go. It allows you to have both top-end porting at high revs and low-end porting. The only problem I can see with the kit is cost. Powervalves are the cat's ***. Wish my 250R had one.
