Default 27" XTR's rubbing on back fenders

Just installed the new 27" XTR's on SS212 black rims. Look and ride great until passenger is aboard. When passenger is on, back tires rub fenders and wore a 1/4" groove in fender. Besides maybe losing a bit of weight, lol, actually we are not that heavy, Im 200 lb. and wife is 130 lb. Anyone had this problem and what was their fix. Riding an 08 800 Sportsman. Maybe shocks are weak? Any input would be appreciated. OH ya, back shocks are adjusted to max.

Whatever you do... don't tell your wife to lose weight! LOL LOL

Hopefully, one of the guys with a similar setup will stop by with some advise. BTW, is your 800 and X2? Made for 2 up?

Thats your issue,if it's a regular 800 and not a touring or x2 then there is where your issue lies when riding two up.The shocks are different on the 2 up models to handle more weight.

Thanks for the info guys, sorry forgot to mention, it is not an X2, could I upgrade the shocks to handle this? There was no problem with the original 26" PXT tires.

Don't hold me to this but you may be able to send you shocks to works shocks and have them revalved for you and your passenger's combined weights.

The extra inch (maybe more) with the new tires is probably enough to make the difference.

Maybe the X2 springs are the way to go if they will work???

I had the same problem with 27" bighorn tires on my 800. Purchased HD rear springs from EPI. Made a big difference with the sagging. I don't have the tire rub anymore.

well i have an 08' 800 and im 225 lb and i used to haul my 140 lb son w/ me and i have the 27"(same) and unless i hit a good bump or too fast thry the bad trails i never bottomed out or rubbed w/ the spring not maxed out. worse case install the heavier springs in from the x2 or maybe the apt. guiessing epi makes some heavier springs as well.
