93 honda fourtrax

Default 93 honda fourtrax

just bought a 93 fourtrax for my son for x mas what type of fluid goes in the front and back axles oil or tranny fluid?

It is best to go to the dealer and buy the manual for this quad,I know they use special gear oil, not the automotive tipe, it's a diferent gear oil, with the manual you will be able to tune this machine with out any problems.

hypoid 80w gear oil on the front&rear diffirentials. there is no seperait tranny oil, engine and tranny use same oil if im not mistaken. 10w-40 ATV/motorcycle ONLY. do not use car oils in your atv engine.

as YIYO said, please buy a service manual, there are some great places on the net you can buy an aftermarket manual.
